Product Description
Practitioner Therapeutic Grade formula made to the highest standard of quality and tested for purity and quality. When it comes to finding the best natural stress and adrenal support, understanding the nutrients inside your supplements is important.
Stress Support
A glandular-free, adaptogenic formula built for early-stage, hyperfunctional stress — the patient who is "wired," cortisol-dominant, and needs to come down without being sedated. It replaces the B-vitamins, zinc, and other micronutrients most rapidly depleted by chronic stress while layering in nine adaptogenic/nervine botanicals (Rhodiola-class actions via L-Tyrosine, Holy Basil, Schisandra, Gotu Kola, Tinospora, and TCM Kidney-tonic herbs — Cornus, Dipsacus, Achyranthes, Damiana).
Active ingredients: Vitamin C, Vitamin E, B1, B2, Niacin, B6 (as pyridoxal-5-phosphate and pyridoxine HCl), Pantothenic acid, Zinc, Copper, Manganese, Rubidium, L-Tyrosine, Achyranthes bidentata root extract, Damiana leaf extract, Gotu Kola extract, Sichuan Teasel root, Asiatic Dogwood fruit extract, Basil leaf extract, Schisandra fruit extract, Indian Tinospora stem & root extract.
Dose: 2–4 tablets before noon with food (per Foundations' own adrenal support protocol, dosed earlier in the day to avoid disrupting sleep). Not recommended in pregnancy or lactation.
Notable Research Findings & Figures
-
Holy Basil, 8-week RCT (n=100): 250 mg/day of a standardized extract reduced perceived stress scores by 37% versus 19% for placebo (p=0.003), reduced insomnia scores by 48% versus 27% (p=0.025), and produced a statistically significant reduction in hair cortisol — a marker of cumulative, longer-term cortisol exposure rather than a single time-point reading.
-
Multi-adaptogen formulas outperform single herbs: combination formulas containing Rhodiola, Schisandra, Holy Basil, and related adaptogens together have shown 86.8% of participants reporting clinically meaningful stress reduction, versus 42.1% on placebo — supporting Stress Support's multi-botanical design over any single adaptogen in isolation.
-
Gotu Kola, 60-day human trial in generalized anxiety disorder: a 1,000 mg/day standardized extract produced a time-dependent improvement — modest at 30 days (anxiety ↓13.1%), more pronounced by trial end (anxiety ↓26%, stress ↓23.2%, depression ↓21.8%) — suggesting these adaptogens need weeks, not days, to show their full effect.
-
L-Tyrosine's benefit is context-dependent: human trials consistently show it protects cognitive performance during acute stress (cold exposure, sleep deprivation, high altitude) by resupplying the catecholamine pool, but there is no evidence it improves cognition above an already-rested baseline — it is a buffer against depletion, not a general stimulant.
-
"Like supports like" is old, but not disproven — just under-studied: desiccated organ therapy dates to the early 20th century (desiccated porcine thyroid became commercial in 1934) and persists in modern practice largely because of a long, consistently positive clinical track record rather than controlled human trials on the concentrates themselves. Proposed modern mechanisms (organ-specific peptides, microRNA, exosome signaling) are biologically plausible and supported by tissue-composition studies, and decades of practitioner-reported outcomes point to these formulas being extremely effective in real-world application — but direct, peer-reviewed human trial data for oral glandular adrenal/pituitary/kidney concentrates specifically is limited. This should be communicated to patients as empirically well-supported, not yet formally proven, therapy.
-
Oral SOD/catalase content carries a bioavailability caveat: these are enzymes (proteins), and dietary protein is generally broken down in the GI tract before absorption. Human data supporting oral antioxidant-enzyme benefit exists mainly for specially protected delivery formats (e.g., gliadin-combined melon SOD); plain vegetable-culture-sourced SOD/catalase, as used across Adrenal Rebuild, HPA Axis Support, Kidney Repair, and AD Restore, has not been shown with that same delivery-protected evidence, so its contribution should be considered a supportive bonus rather than a primary, well-evidenced mechanism of these products.
